This five-lesson course builds a practical growth strategy from diagnosis through operating rhythm. Complete it with a real business decision in mind; each lesson should improve the same working strategy document.
Lesson 1: Diagnose the context
Map the market, business model, customer journey, economics, capabilities, and recent performance. Separate facts, assumptions, and interpretations. Output: a one-page context brief.
Lesson 2: Name the constraint
Identify the bottleneck that most limits the desired outcome. Compare demand, conversion, activation, retention, monetization, and execution. Output: a ranked constraint hypothesis and evidence plan.
Lesson 3: Write the thesis
Choose the customer, behavior, promise, and mechanism that connect the constraint to the outcome. Output: a growth thesis clear enough to challenge and test.
Lessons 4 and 5: Choose and operate
Select up to three plays, define tradeoffs, and create a scorecard with leading indicators and guardrails. Establish a weekly review that turns evidence into decisions.
- Complete one lesson per week.
- Use real customer and performance evidence.
- Ask a cross-functional peer to challenge each output.
- Finish with a 90-day plan and first review date.
